As soon as Sprint Nextel's quarterly metrics hit the wires, Verizon Wireless was ready with its own announcement: It has the lowest churn rate among the top wireless carriers in the U.S. Sprint's post-paid churn rate came in at 2.3 percent, just better than T-Mobile USA's 2.9 percent. Cingular Wireless recently reported churn rate of 1.8 percent and Verizon Wireless currently has the lowest with 1.1 percent churn rate in Q4. Verizon Wireless claims this is the ninth consecutive quarter that it has beaten out its rivals.
