Third-party providers of what research firm ABI Research calls Application Enablement Platforms (AEPs) are pushing ahead to remove much of the burden of app development. ABI classifies AEPs as the software designed to provide core features for multiple M2M applications. According to a new ABI report, evenues from AEP software will grow from about $169 million in 2011 to roughly $1.7 billion by 2017.
