ALSO NOTED: Austrian cartel court to rule on MVNO acquisition; Mobile Internet booms in Slovenia

> Telekom Austria's planned acquisition of Tele2's Austrian MVNO customer base has been referred to the cartel court by the country's federal cartel office (BWB). The reference was made following an assessment by the BWB of the purchase which concluded that the takeover might impact badly on the competitive market position. Tele2 sold its Austrian MVNO operations to Telekom Austria for SEK65 million (US$9.9 million) last October. Article

> Slovenian mobile operator Mobitel reports that its Planet mobile Internet portal has now passed the one million visitors mark. Usage was stimulated by the introduction of free browsing and there is increasing interest in mobile content. The most popular content has been sport, news, images and games. Slovenia is at the heart of ski country and Planet users can check on snow conditions by looking at cameras located on the ski slopes. Article
