BT has gone global with IP Exchange, its wholesale VoIP interconnection platform.
IP Exchange enables the connection of VoIP lines, both with other VoIP lines and traditional voice lines. The service is BT Wholesale's first for the global market.
BT said it is already being used by around 100 fixed-line and mobile operators in the UK.
IP Exchange hubs can be connected to via BT's MPLS network, which spans 170 countries, or other access methods.
The service can also be used to send IP-originated text messages around the world via BT's mobile GSM signaling over IP technology.
