GSMA Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, Hall 2, Stand 2J25 - - February 16, 2009   Chilean operator Entel PCS has gone live with its affordable, mass market push email service based on Synchronica Mobile Gateway. Entel PCS launched its unlimited Mobile Email plan at a flat monthly rate of $4.90 on 19 January 2009, supported by a major media advertising campaign. The service allows Chilean consumers and prosumers to experience an.email service on their existing handsets, obviating the need to upgrade to a Smartphone.

Entel PCS has a 43.4 per cent market share of the mobile market in Chile[1] and almost six million subscribers. Synchronica's push email and synchronization solution provides Entel PCS with an addictive value-added service that should increase overall subscriber revenues and improve customer loyalty.

Rodrigo Baudrand, Business Solutions Manager at Entel PCS commented: "In today's climate, being able to offer subscribers a low-cost mobile email service that works on existing handsets makes commercial sense. Synchronica Mobile Gateway fits our business model perfectly and is already proving that it can help to reduce churn rates and raise ARPU."

Carsten Brinkschulte, CEO of Synchronica added: "Synchronica Mobile Gateway provides Entel PCS with an affordable, addictive and churn-busting mobile email solution for the mass market in Chile.  The service, priced at just $4.90 a month, signals a radical departure from the expensive solutions targeted at senior executives, yet offers a similar customer experience."

Prospective customers can sign up by sending the word FULL via text message to 4444, or by visiting the Entel PCS website www.entelpcs.cl. Entel is offering the first 30 days as a free trial, to increase the take-up rate of the service.
