LTE Advanced deployments have taken hold in all markets around the world. In its latest report the Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) said over 30 per cent of operators are investing in LTE-A system deployments, with the commercialisation of carrier aggregation the first feature to be exploited. Some 88 operators--equating to more than 20 per cent of all LTE operators--have commercially launched LTE-A service in 45 countries. Meanwhile a total of 422 operators have commercially launched LTE in 143 countries. Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) deployments are also increasing. The GSA said 103 operators are investing in VoLTE deployments, trials or studies in 49 countries, from which 25 operators in 16 countries have commercially launched VoLTE-based HD voice service, compared to just three launched in March 2014.
