African tower company Helios Towers Africa, is relying on fresh management blood to aid a push into new markets in the region.
The firm has appointed former Millicom International Cellular staffer Kevin Koch as its chief operating officer, in a bid to tap his experience of the African region to drive the market expansion. Koch held similar roles at Millicom’s operations in Senegal, Mauritius, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Dubai.
Helios Towers chief Charles Green, says Koch’s appointment consolidates the firm’s executive management team. “Kevin is very experienced in emerging markets and Africa in particular,” Green states, adding that Koch will work with the team to focus on operational performance “and expand the company’s footprint into new markets.”
