Apple's Watch device and fitness trackers spurred growth in the global wearable device market in the final quarter of 2015, IDC announced. The research company said worldwide wearable sales hit 27.4 million during the period, a rise of 126.9 per cent on the same quarter in 2014. Full year shipments were up 171.6 per cent year-on-year to 78.1 million units. IDC said Fitbit remained the market leading vendor through 2015, shipping 21 million units for a 26.9 per cent market share. Xiaomi ranked in second place on shipments of 12 million units (15.4 per cent market share) and Apple third with 11.6 million units shipped (14.9 per cent). Report
