Intec clinches Antel contract

Intec has signed a significant multi-million dollar convergent billing contract with government-owned Uruguayan operator Antel.

This is the largest contract Intec has secured to date and will be deliverable in 2008 and 2009, Intec says.

Intec's convergent billing solution will enable Antel to become the first convergent operator in the Latin American region to offer network and service convergence, through prepaid and postpaid wireline, wireless and broadband services with fully convergent, real-time charging, billing and customer care capabilities, as well as subscriber self-care and electronic recharge.

Antel says the Intec solution will also significantly decrease the telco's operational expenses.
