NEWS IN BRIEFS: Qualcomm, Satyam, Chinese govt, Digisoft.tv

Qualcomm has acquired $65 million in graphics and technology assets from chipset maker AMD, which Qualcomm intends to use to enable the delivery more advanced mobile multimedia services.

 

Two potential buyers have expressed an interest in buying all or part of Satyam, the Press Trust of India reports. The potential suitors are corporate giants Essar and L&T - both of which run IT businesses.

 

The Chinese government has blocked another 244 pornographic sites in its latest censorship campaign. This brings the total number of sites shut down to over 700.

 

Digisoft.tv has joined the Open IPTV Forum, whose remit is to develop and promote an open, end to end specification for IPTV based upon existing technologies and open standards.
