Orange to compete in the fixed-line market

Mobile operator Orange plans to introduce a fixed-line service for small and medium-sized enterprises in the UK, a company statement said.

The company said Orange Landline for Business would provide fixed-line services to new and existing Orange business customers.

The operator said call charges would be up to 20% less than those of competitors, primarily BT.

The carrier further said Orange Landline for Business would allow businesses to replace their current landline rental and call services with a single Orange package, which offered a range of voice bundles to cater to specific mobile, national and international needs.

A single bill would be available for calls and line rental, the company said.
