Prepaid subscribers continue to flourish in Europe

The trend of operators pushing their subscribers away from prepay and toward the more lucrative post-paid contract continues, and Europe is no exception. However, in spite of this, only two of Europe's largest markets currently have more post-paid than prepaid subscribers. Data collected from Europe indicates countries with similar populations and levels of market maturity can have little uniformity when it comes to prepaid/post-paid subscriber levels. The fact that Germany and Poland have the same proportion of prepaid customers, whilst the UK and France's percentages are so different, indicates GDP is not a determining factor here. Article
