Report: Cost, reliability and customer service are top 3 reasons why mobile users stay with operators

Cost, reliability and customer service are listed by users as the top three reasons why they stay with the same operator, according to a survey of UK users carried out by YouGov on behalf of business process management company Firstsource Solutions. The online survey of 2,168 respondents carried out in March this year found that cost was the most cited reason why people stay with a mobile provider for a long period of time (55 per cent of respondents), with a good mobile signal the next most popular (45 per cent of respondents). Customer service was in third place (27 per cent of respondents). Just 14 per cent of those aged between 18 and 24 cited handset upgrades as a reason to stay with a provider, indicating that practical considerations outweigh upgrading to the latest technology.
