Report: Mobile infrastructure market booms most since 2004

Despite the economic turmoil, the mobile infrastructure market experienced its strongest year-over-year growth since 2004, according to a new study from the industry research firm Dell'Oro Group. The research outfit claims that revenue increased the most year-over-year since 2004, with revenues up 25 per cent during the second quarter compared to the year-ago period. Sales were driven largely by W-CDMA/HSPA and CDMA/EV-DO systems, which made up nearly 70 per cent of the market's gain. The report also reveals that in the second quarter of this year, Ericsson, Huawei, and Nokia Siemens Networks held the three largest market shares on a trailing four-quarter basis. Release
