Serbia picks BlackBerrys with Alcatel-Lucent and RIM

Mobile Telephony of Serbia (mt:s), Alcatel-Lucent and Research In Motion (RIM) are to launch three BlackBerry models in Serbia - BlackBerry Pearl 8100, BlackBerry Curve8300 and BlackBerry 8800 - as well as service on BlackBerry Enterprise Server and BlackBerry Internet Service.

'Customers will be able to use the BlackBerry Pearl 8100, BlackBerry Curve 8300 and BlackBerry 8800 smartphones in Serbia as well as in more than 60 countries through our over 120 global roaming relationships,' said Vladimir Lucic, executive manager, mt:s.

Alcatel-Lucent is leveraging its local presence in the region. Through its distribution agreement with RIM it will provide mt:s with the end-to-end implementation, integration, launch and support services for the BlackBerry in Serbia.
