Spirent goes for old pair of hands

British telcoms testing firm Spirent Communications has named insider William Burns as its new chief executive and said it expected its earnings performance for the year to be in line with  forecasts, according to Reuters.

Burns was previously chief executive of Spirent's Communications group, responsible for the overall leadership, strategy and investments across the Communication unit businesses.

Revenue grew by 9%, operating profit by 31% and earnings per share by 44% compared to the third quarter last year.
