The Apple Watch smart watch will ship 15 million units worldwide in 2015, with Apple becoming the world's number one smart watch vendor with a 55 per cent global market share this year. According to latest figures from Strategy Analytics, total global smart watch shipments will increase by 511 per cent from 4.6 million units in 2014 to 28.1 million units in 2015. However, despite Apple's dominance the research company warned that the company will need to upgrade its second-generation Watch "tangibly" to stay ahead of competitors, also noting that Apple's premium pricing may be challenging for mass-market consumers.
