Telecom Italia subscribers have just six days to trial LTE services, as the operator commenced its first public demos of the technology yesterday.
The trial in Turin lasts until Feb 22, but rather than putting smartphones into the hands of consumers, Telecom Italia is demonstrating the services available on its 4G network at one of its flagship stores. USB dongles are being used in the demonstrations, which cover high-definition video streaming, access to on-demand content, and general web surfing.
The operator is gearing up to launch commercial LTE services this year, after a series of tests in 2010 and 2011.
