Webwire: Android market hits 10b downloads; Microsoft outlines Windows 8 apps pricing

Google's Android Market has now hit ten billion downloads, and is growing at a rate of one billion downloads per month.
 
Microsoft will take a 30% cut of the first $25,000 (€18,641) worth of an app's sales, and 20% thereafter, in an app store being launched with its forthcoming Windows 8 operating system.
 
A Chinese court is refusing an Apple lawsuit over the use of the iPad name by China's Proview Technology. Legal documents in the case reportedly show that Proview legally registered the name iPad in China in 2000.
