Yahoo wants Microsoft to make another offer

Just hours after Google reneged on its proposed partnership with Yahoo, the BBC reported Yahoo's CEO, Jerry Yang, saying the company was for sale and Microsoft should buy it.

Microsoft's CEO was quoted by Reuters saying, "'We made an offer, we made another offer "&brkbar; We moved on,' at a luncheon in Sydney today. Yahoo turned down an offer of  $33 (£21) a share from Microsoft in May. Its shares are now trading at under US$14.

Yang refused to comment on rumours that his company is in negotiations to buy AOL from Time Warner.
