ZTE to supply phones for Sweden, UK, Ireland

Chinese vendor ZTE has signed a handset supply agreement with Hutchison to supply phones to Sweden, the UK and Ireland.

ZTE has signed deals with 3 Scandinavia and 3 UK, in a deal which marks ZTE's first entrance into the Swedish market.

The company said it will initially supply its F102 handsets to all three countries. F102 is a 3G and tri-band GSM phone with a 2.0 megapixel camera and bluetooth support.

It will be the fifth phone ZTE has supplied for the UK and Ireland market, but the first it has supplied for operators 3 UK and 3 Ireland.

“The UK, Ireland and Scandinavia are very desirable markets for us and have opened up a wealth of opportunities,” ZTE UK sales director Tony Brunt said.

Brunt said the handsets will be available in Sweden exclusively from consumer electronics chain Media Market, while it will be sold across the distribution channels controlled by 3 UK and 3 Ireland.
