Overseeing the effort is Sanjeet Pandit, a former Qualcomm Technologies and Ericsson executive, who serves as vice president of Global Relations with Operators and Ecosystem at Celona.

The company also said it added industry veterans Paul Donovan and Graham Duthie, headquartered in the United Kingdom, to scale Celona’s European business by bringing its newly launched 5G NR LAN products and technology to that market.

Indeed, market research shows dramatic growth in private wireless in Europe. In a press release, Celona noted that IDC forecasts the market for private wireless within the EMEA market will reach $1.9 billion by 2026 at an annual compound annual growth rate of 28.8%.

Celona has made no secret of its ambitions in the private wireless space. The company has set its sights on becoming the world’s No. 1 vendor in private wireless. In the U.S., it’s mainly tapped CBRS spectrum for private wireless deployments.

Earlier this year, Celona delivered what it described as the industry’s first all-inclusive portfolio of indoor and outdoor 5G NR products for global markets, The new 5G LAN system, now commercially available, supports both public and private spectrum requirements across a range of international 5G NR bands -- from 3.3 to 4.9 GHz that include n48, n77 and n78.

“As one of the most developed and affluent regions in the world, Europe is playing a key role in the widespread rollout of 5G globally,” said Rajeev Shah, co-founder and CEO of Celona, in a statement. “This market is primed for astonishing growth as organizations realize the value that private wireless brings in supercharging business operations across a myriad of vital business use cases.”

Celona pointed to work done by European regulatory bodies to promote private wireless networks, including initiatives such as the European Electronic Communications Code (EECC) and the EU 5G Action Plan.

Celona is actively recruiting and signing partners throughout Germany, the U.K., and other European countries to support demand for its 5G LAN system.

New enhancements to orchestration platform

Separately, Celona introduced enhancements to its cloud-based 5G LAN orchestration platform designed to help IT staff measure, monitor and analyze the experience for private wireless users, devices and sites.

Bundled within its turnkey 5G LAN solution, the Celona Orchestrator is a cloud-based platform that enables full RAN to LAN administration of Celona 5G LAN infrastructure.

Celona’s Orchestrator provides Web-based point-and-click controls to provision and optimize all aspects of a private wireless network including users, devices, access controls, QoS policies and applications.
