Thanks to rapid growth in emerging markets, carriers in Asia and Latin America have been moving upward on the list of the world's largest mobile operators, with notable gains being enjoyed by carriers in China, India and Indonesia, according to data gathered by Wireless Intelligence. As of the third quarter of 2011, China Mobile retained the top spot on the list, followed by Vodafone and America Movil.
