Honoring Women in Wireline who are driving innovation

While male executives dominate the CEO and CTO offices of many telecom companies, there's an increasing presence of women in high-level executive roles at the large telcos, vendors and industry forums. In its sixth annual Women in Wireline feature, FierceTelecom is once again showcasing the talent of some of the most influential women in the wireline segment of the telecom industry. These women are driving new technology and business initiatives within the major vendors and service providers. Kathleen Abernathy, for example, is a former FCC commissioner who is now Frontier Communications' EVP of external affairs, overseeing a number of key regulatory issues related to Frontier's moves to improve broadband accessibility.
