AT&T launches free nationwide 411

AT&T has taken its free directory service nationwide after launching it in a few test markets earlier this year. AT&T subscribers who call 1-800-YellowPages from any wireline or wireless AT&T phone in the U.S. can access the directory. AT&T aims to monetize the service by allowing advertisers to reach the directory's users and target them by region. Users of the service will hear a few short audio advertisements while the directory is retrieving their requests. AT&T claims most of the ads will be relevant to the caller's search.
