FCC approves 8-megapixel phone for T-Mobile

The FCC approved an 8-megapixel camera phone that was rumored to be the Samsung Memoir. The phone seems destined to land at T-Mobile USA because it comes with a 1700 MHz radio.

The HSDPA phone will run on Samsung's TouchWhiz interface--the same as on the Samsung Behold--and is equipped with GPS and Bluetooth. There is no word on pricing or a release date. The phone will boost T-Mobile's lineup of smartphones, which has lagged behind those of other Tier 1 carriers as T-Mobile has built out its 3G UMTS/HSPA network in the United States.
