FCC staff in favor of AT&T/BellSouth deal

The Federal Communications Commission staff is recommending approval of AT&T's $67 billion acquisition of BellSouth with no conditions, although it's highly unlikely that FCC commissioners won't impose restrictions, according to an article in The Wall Street Journal. The FCC is expected to vote on the acquisition on Oct. 12, and the Justice Department may also be done by then.
