mBlox announces mobile TV services

mBlox is getting bullish on mobile interactive TV services. The company just announced an agreement with Telescope that reveals the company has been managing the premium SMS viewer interaction services for such shows as Rockstar Supernova and Hell’s Kitchen. CEO Andrew Bud stated that mobile makes up 30 percent of Europe’s interactive TV services today. “Participation TV is becoming a material part of the revenue model for broadcasters,” he says, particularly as traditional TV ad revenues fall or otherwise erode in the face of TiVO-like functions and other new media innovations. - Antony
