I'm excited to introduce Colin Gibbs, the newest member of the Fierce editorial team. Colin is the editor of FierceWireless and will be reporting on all the latest news in the wireless industry -- from pricing plans and smartphone launches to spectrum auctions and network upgrades.
Many of you will probably recognize Colin's byline. He has covered the wireless industry for more than a decade -- first at RCRWireless and later as an analyst for GigaOM. He has appeared as a speaker at industry events and on national TV and radio broadcasts. Most recently he managed Peak Mobile Insights, a boutique consulting firm he founded in 2014.
Gibbs joins FierceWireless at a critical juncture for the industry. The industry is hyper-competitive and wireless operators are pulling out all the stops to make their services (and price plans) more attractive to consumers. At the same time, wireless networks are becoming increasingly congested as bandwidth-hungry applications like video are being accessed over more and more wireless devices.
