While critics continue to dismiss the technology, shipments of Bluetooth-enabled devices continue to grow. According to the Bluetooth SIG, shipments of Bluetooth devices now stand at 5 million units per week. Bluetooth advocates claim this is yet another sign that Bluetooth is winning with the mainstream consumer market. Earlier this year the Bluetooth SIG said it plans to work to integrate the standard with emerging technology Ultrawideband.
