British mobile operator O2 will employ Redknee's IP Charging Gateway in the UK and Ireland. The IP Charging Gateway is aimed at simplifying billing for the use of data services on mobile phones. The solution allows O2 to rate and charge data traffic in real-time so that customers will be billed when a service is requested or used. Carriers use the software to charge prepaid and postpaid users for WAP, WEB and MMS traffic. The feature also enables carriers to keep up with the growing demand for personalization. O2 already uses RedKnee's other offerings, including its VPN solution for the enterprise.
