The pros and cons of using SMS to market your app

Some research firms have predicted that SMS usage is doomed to extinction with the advent of over-the-top messaging apps. However, a growing number of voices are suggesting the death of SMS, impeding or otherwise, is greatly exaggerated.  In fact, firms like Tyntec, are advocating that mobile app developers use SMS as a way to encourage more usage of their apps and stop consumers from abandoning apps once they are downloaded.
