Smartphone sales in focus for Q1

Handset makers appear poised for growth in the first quarter. According to a Reuters poll, overall handset sales volumes are expected to grow 12.7 percent in the quarter. Samsung and LG, the world's No. 2 and No. 3 handset makers, respectively, are expected to grow their global market shares. However, due to their weak sales of smartphones, both are expected to experience pressure on margins, according to analysts. Both LG and Samsung have promised to increase emphasis on smartphones this year. Article
