NTT DoCoMo and Rakuten announced a JV today, called Rakuten Auction that the companies expect to generate 400 billion yen and 15 million users by 2010. The auction will launch on the mobile platform by November 20th. While the service will be exclusive to DoCoMo initially, the companies said expanding it to Softbank and KDDI subs is likely to happen eventually.
