Speaking at the WWW2005 show in Chiba, Japan, Internet inventor Tim Berners-Lee rallied the Internet and wireless industries to improve mobile access to the Web. Berners-Lee's remarks were a part of the Mobile Web Initiative (MWI), an initiative designed to improve mobile Web access by encouraging companies to focus on two areas: best practices and mobile devices. The group will work over the next 18 months to develop best practices that will help content providers develop applications that work efficiently on mobile devices. Article
