Kodiak Networks, maker of a push to talk platform used by operators such as AT&T, Alltel, CelllarSouth and others, has developed a clientless solution that will let operators significantly increase the potential addressable market for their PTT application. Basically, the originator of the call can assign a telephone number to a group of individuals who can then use that for conferencing, text messaging and voice messaging. They can initiate calls with each other without requiring all the parties to have a PTT-capable phone. "We can now reach 100 percent of the addressable market," Bruce Lawlor said in an interview with FierceWireless.
