Motorola will install vending machine-like stores in 20 malls and airports nationwide as part of a pilot program to see if it will fill a niche for consumers needing a mobile phone or accessory on the run. The "Instantmoto" will carry about 30 products, including 12 mobile phones and 18 accessories initially. Chicago already has three outlets operating, including one in the Macy's store downtown.
