Is there a market for jailbroken apps?

Within a week of its beta-release to developers, Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS 5 was jailbroken by two separate teams of hackers, the iPhone Dev Team and ih8sn0w. This interest raises a number of questions: What is driving the jailbroken market?
