For years many businesses moved away from desktops instead buying laptops. Now that smart phones offer real computing power and wireless networks offer significant bandwidth, some enterprises are moving away from laptops. Many businesses are now buying mobile employees the combination of a desktop and a smart phone, which together are often cheaper than a standalone laptop. While smart phones can't do everything a laptop can, when paired with a desktop and shared hosted applications, smart phones can be a more cost-effective solution for the road warrior.
