Verizon Wireless to launch mobile music phone, service

Verizon Wireless will launch a phone optimized for playing music and an online music service designed to compete with Apple Computer's iTunes platform. Verizon plans to launch an LG mobile music phone in August, almost a month before Motorola and Apple are scheduled to launch the long-anticipated iTunes phone. No other details about Verizon's upcoming mobile music service are available.
