Virgin Mobile launches mobile TV trial

Virgin Mobile UK and BT Livetime plan to launch a four-month trial of mobile TV service. The trial will first go live in the M25 area and will be expanded to include most of the UK. The service will operate over a DAB digital radio network, and programming will include Sky Sports News, Sky News, and Blaze, a music channel designed specifically for mobile television. Unlike most mobile TV services, which use DVB-H (a subform of digital TV), the Virgin Mobile, BT solution uses DAB.
