Williams steps down as Symbian Foundation chief

symbian lee williamsLee Williams resigned as executive director of the Symbian Foundation, the non-profit initiative charged with overseeing the Symbian  platform. Symbian Foundation CFO Tim Holbrow will assume the executive director post, effective immediately. The platform, which is championed by Nokia (NYSE:NOK) and retains the top spot in global smartphone market share, has recently taken a few big hits. Both Sony Ericsson and Samsung Electronics have stated they will longer manufacture Symbian-based devices. Article
