Zer01 Mobile sued by former partner

Zer01 Mobile, the MVNE that has faced questions about its service, was sued by a former business partner, which Zer01 severed ties with during the summer.

Global Verge, a multilevel marketing company that owned Buzzirk Mobile, which was supposed to distribute Zer01's unlimited mobile service, filed a lawsuit against Zer01, claiming it owes Global Verge $170,500. The lawsuit, filed in the District Court in Clark County, Nev., alleges Global Verge lent money to Zer01 after Zer01's CEO, Ben Piilani, said the company was facing financial issues and problems with a shareholder, Teonna Poloa.

Poloa is listed as the managing member of TNV Enterprise, an escort agency in Las Vegas that appears to have not yet opened. TNV's website is registered to a company Piilani owns.

In August, Zer01 said that because of a breach of contract it cut its business ties with Buzzirk. Zer01 did not specify in what way the contract had been breached. Zer01 has promised to deliver a mobile virtual network enabler service that could support unlimited wireless voice and data service via mobile VoIP technology running over an unnamed carrier's GSM network.
